My Approach

Sharing your inner thoughts can be powerful. I have the skills, knowledge and life experience that together can offer you a safe space to cry, laugh and heal.

I can help you with:

  • anxiety
  • low mood/depression
  • grief and loss
  • historical abuse
  • relationship struggles
  • parenting
  • life transitions
  • work stress
  • generational trauma

By understanding your unique way of interacting in the world, I support you to relieve your worries, regain your energy and build your self-esteem.

“Christine, I am deeply grateful for your assistance to navigate this journey. I could not have imagined the path I would take to get to there I am right now. I have things to learn and discover and overcome, but I have a good foundation on which to go forward. I have learned so much about myself and my family in the process and I feel quite certain that without your guidance it would not have happened. I just wanted to offer a genuine and heartfelt thank you. I hope you know how much I appreciate the type of discovery and healing journey you have guided me on — one that really opened my eyes to things that would not have fit my mental landscape had you not gently but purposefully guided me through.” – Female in her 50s

Who I Am

Christine Kutzner, M.Ed., RCC, North Vancouver

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia.

My counselling career began 30 years ago in child and youth mental health where I had the privilege of working with children (ages 6-18) and their families. This work experience underscored the pain a child can endure, but also renewed my sense of hope when they overcame their challenges. Over time, I developed my passion for supporting mothers who were concerned about their child’s mental health but neglected their own.

Through helping hundreds of families and individuals learn to love themselves again, I honed my skills and training for working with adults to heal past issues, repair relationships and, if they had children, to end the cycle of pain. I feel I have come full circle in my attachment work helping women, men and parents heal their past to live more freely in the present.

I am a wife, mother, good friend and have navigated through my own life challenges.

I have training in:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Family Constellation work
  • Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)
  • Trauma informed research
  • Attachment theory
  • Somatic Experiencing
